Stormbirds started out as cellular mimics but have lost the flexibility over eons landing then in their new classification as a metamorphic mimic. In their cellular mimic days the main mimicry was those of meat cell and fungal organisms. In current day stormbird anatomy is a mix of both. Over the bones is a simplified set of muscles, the meat cell layer. These muscles and tendons create the main framework of their body structure. There's an array of both nerves and veins that are a part of both layers interwoven. The top layer of the body is a biopolymer network of hyphae. Think of fungal mycelium. The filament nature of the structure allows to to function as skin,muscle, and vein. The inner muscle framework works an an anchor and director to the mycelial layer. The mycelium holds a majority of digested nutrients and its the conversion spot for external attributes such as feathers and scutes


while being of the same species they are rather diverse in both ability and design. This is the result of the secret talent of artimesians. With their bodies being malleable to an extent they can regenerate when injured can grow back in many different ways. resulting in diversity of both lithe and quick to stocky and strong body types and features. While changing the form of their bodies comes more easily to them than other species, they need to consume more food in order to properly construct such changes and can sometimes react negatively to them.
The core is extremely sturdy and can withstand many environments and settings, yet, can be shattered under normal means of pressure such as the force of some strikes from a hammer. the body can be torn to shreds but if the 'Core' itself is not shattered they are still alive and can reform their body when the necessary materials are available.
