SHAPESHIFTING
-transcription-
-Shifting-
The torso is the only part of their body they can freely shapeshift. The neck and skull can be easily shifted as well but not as freely as the torso.
Other limbs can only be changed in proportion without being merged with torso pieces.
Stormbirds are descended from real shapeshifters but their abilities have dwindled over time before flattening out where they are now. Their bodies are morphological and amorphous in nature unlike the fully changed nature of true shapeshifters.
WING SHIFTING
-transcription-
Wings are shifted in along the back. Due to their size, most stormbirds stick to having them out when necessary instead of having them all the time.
Along with standard wings, the butterfly-style wing is also popular. Structured similarly to a bat’s in connection, these wings can double as a kind of cape.
